How can I find out what my IP address is?

1. Open Command Promt (cmd) on your windows by pressing windows button and type cmd.
2. Then type ipconfig and you'll see several lines of information getting  displayed. The IP address looks like "149.72.61.234" - yours will have different one because ip addresss is a unique number. 

If your computer is not connected to internet, then your computer's IP address is only valid in your own local network. When you connect to another machine on the Internet, that machine won't see your internal IP address. Instead it will see the IP address assigned to your router, which is different from your computer'sip address.
