Lockdown 4: Arogya Setu App is not necessary for children under 14 years, Guideline on air travel released

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on domestic aircraft operations starting on 25 May. According to the SOP, all passengers must compulsorily register on the Arogya Setu app on their phone.

The news agency ANI quoted AAI as saying that the entrance will be checked by Central Industrial Security Force / Airport staff. However, Arogya Setu is not mandatory for children below 14 years of age. According to AAI, seating will be provided for passengers keeping in mind the physical distance.

Significantly, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that domestic passenger flight services will resume from May 25. However, the minister did not specify when international passenger flights would start. All domestic and international flights in the country have been closed since the lockdown enforced from 25 March due to Corona virus.

According to news agency PTI on Tuesday, Puri said that the Center alone cannot take a decision on resuming passenger flights. State governments should be ready to allow these services in the spirit of cooperative federalism. Senior government officials have said that initially about 30 percent of domestic flights will operate. After this, the number of flights will be gradually increased gradually.
